Ingredients
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 large egg
2 tablespoons milk
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 baking apples, peeled and chopped
20 caramels, unwrapped
2 tablespoons water
Instructions

Preheat & Prep:
- Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Stir in the oats.

Cream Butter & Sugar:
- In a large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer until creamy.

Add Wet Ingredients:
- Mix in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.

Combine & Fold in Apples:
- On low speed, gradually mix in the dry ingredients.
- Stir in the chopped apples.

Shape & Bake:
- Drop tablespoon-sized scoops onto the baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 14 minutes or until golden.
- Let cool on a wire rack.

Prepare Caramel Drizzle:
- In a small saucepan, melt caramels with water over low heat, stirring for about 7 minutes until smooth.

- Drizzle warm caramel over cookies.
- Let set for 15 minutes before serving.
